"A long backpacking route suitable for a base camp, with remote thermal areas, lakes, and streams not many people ever see. It’s a long, hot hike to Wapiti Lake, and the Wapiti Lake/Broad Creek/Fern Lake area is a wild, remote place with lots of thermal areas, lakes, streams, and scenery to make getting there worth the extra effort. The first section of this trail goes through the north edge of the open Hayden Valley, where you’ll probably see a lot of wildlife. Also keep your map out, as you go by three junctions in the first 1 mile before leaving the valley and starting to climb through thick lodgepole." Read more
