Traveling the entire trail is 28.0 miles with a total elevation gain of 2,041 feet. The Gneiss Creek trailhead parking is near the trailhead. The Madison River picnic site and the Fir Ridge Cemetery (elevation 6,821 feet) grave yard can be seen along the trail. There is also parking along the trail.
