Detailed Trail Descriptions from Our Guidebooks

Bill Schneider
"A long, arduous, moderately hazardous day hike for fit, experienced hikers only but with possibly the best view in Yellowstone. Electric Peak, at 10,992 feet, is commonly believed to be the highest point in Yellowstone National Park, but in reality it’s the sixth highest. However, it might be the most sensational hike in the park. It’s definitely the “high point” of the northwestern corner of Yellowstone. This trail description stretches the definition of the word “hike.” Actually this is a moderately difficult mountain climb with a well-defined approach trail." Read more
