"This hike has several diverse landscapes, including a shaded stream-fed gulch; a Douglas fir and Engelmann spruce forest; an open plateau with views of Sepulcher Mountain, Terrace Mountain, and Bunsen Peak; ponds; fissures; and an active thermal terrace. The loop trail begins at the Mammoth Hot Spring Terraces and climbs through Clematis Creek Canyon en route to Snow Pass.
