Swan Lake and Heron Pond: Colter Bay - Jackson Lake Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The trail to Swan Lake and Heron Pond heads south from the Colter Bay Visitor Center towards Hermitage Point, a peninsula on Jackson Lake. The pristine path strolls through stands of lodgepole pines with views of Colter Bay, Jackson Lake, and the ever-present Teton peaks.
Both Swan Lake and Heron Pond have abundant water lilies and water fowl, including pelicans, osprey, trumpeter swan, cranes, heron, Canada geese, and ducks. Moose and elk are frequently seen in the area. This 3-mile loop is the beginning of the longer 9-mile loop to Hermitage Point (Hike 46)."
