Lake Solitude Trail, Trails 164 & 038 Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"A well-worn network of trails leads the way to Lake Solitude, a gateway to the entire Cloud Peak Wilderness and the largest natural lake in the Bighorns. This route is popular with horse packers departing from the Battle Park Trailhead.

A popular route into the Cloud Peak Wilderness from Battle Park Trailhead, this hike (Trails 164 and 038) goes through some timber, then along the broad meadow of Long Park, before working around the flanks of Elk Mountain. The trail continues north until Cloud Peak emerges in the distance from behind
the slopes of Elk Mountain. Expect to share Long Park with grazing cattle during the summer grazing."
