Coney Lake, Trail 021 Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"An easy day trip off of Red Grade Road, this trail enters the most northerly pocket of the Cloud Peak Wilderness at the Stull Lakes and continues on to Coney Lake. While the highest peaks are farther south, the scenery here of tree-lined lakes with surrounding peaks that ?irt with the timberline is equally impressive.

From the well-marked parking lot, cross the Red Grade Road to the trailhead. Enter the timber and after two tenths of a mile, maintain a straight course as you cross Trail 418 running from Twin Lakes to Rock Chuck Pass. Half a mile from
the trailhead, you’ll cross the trickle that is Snail Creek, and beyond that, you’ll walk beyond the wet meadow that contains the small Lost Lake."
