Buela Lake Professional Review and Guide
"Buela Lake is a beautiful 1 07-acre backcountry lake that sits at an elevation of 7,400 feet near the south end of Yellowstone National Park. The lake is surrounded by forested hills. Yellow pond lilies grow along its marshy south end, where a stream from Hering Lake feeds the lake. The outlet stream at the northwest end of Buela Lake forms the headwaters of Falls River. Access to the trailhead is through the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway and Targhee National Forest. The well-defined trail gently winds through lodgepole pines and parallels the western shoreline past two designated campsites."
