Pine Creek Canyon Trail-Elkhart Park to Long and Glimpse Lakes

Pine Creek Canyon Trail-Elkhart Park to Long and Glimpse Lakes Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This trail, the most demanding route in the Bridger Wilderness, is most often dismissed by backcountry travelers beginning a trip from Elkhart Park. After all, the trail loses nearly 2,000 feet of elevation as it plunges into the depths of Pine Creek Canyon, then regains all
that lost elevation, and then some, to reach the canyon rim above Glimpse Lake.

The trail is steep and rocky and crosses sun-drenched slopes where the sparse forest cover offers little shade. In fact, the trail is so rocky, steep, and rough, it is one of only nine trails in the Bridger Wilderness that are not recommended for stock parties."
