Middle Fork Trail-Sandpoint Lake to Middle Fork Lake

Middle Fork Trail-Sandpoint Lake to Middle Fork Lake Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This spur trail to Middle Fork Lake is used most frequently by backpackers as part of a backcountry circuit originating at Dream Lake and ascending past Rainbow Lake or Bonneville Basin to the upper Middle Fork basin.

Others use this trail to reach Middle Fork Lake and establish a base camp. From here numerous remote lake basins can be explored or peaks climbed; routes range from technical ascents to Class 2 walk-ups. Middle Fork Lake and the two lakes below it are all productive brook trout fisheries. The high lakes both north and south of Middle Fork Lake offer outstanding alpine scenery but are barren of fish."
