This country is the place to be during an election year. It is extremely wild and, except during hunting season, receives little or no use. It provides excellent opportunities for viewing wildlife as well as ghostly apparitions in the form of burned trees. The hike goes through an area that experiences heavy ongoing landslides, which increases the challenge presented by this loop. Contact the Bridger-Teton National Forest for updated conditions. Highlights: A rigorous wilderness loop through some of the most remote country in the contiguous 48 states; numerous meadows, ponds, and wildlife.
