Huckleberry Hot Springs Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Grand Teton National Park's worst-kept secret is actually located just north of the park in the John D. Rockefeller Jr. Memorial Parkway area. Formerly the site of a private campground, all traces of development have been removed and the 100 degree and 105 degree Fahrenheit springs have reverted back to their natural state."

"Huckleberry Hot Springs, one mile west of Flagg Ranch, is a natural hot springs in a beautiful mountain meadow between Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. The springs, in excess of 1 00 degrees Fahrenheit, has a series of pools, a waterfall, a grotto, and a natural bridge. The hot springs are located along a small tributary stream of Polecat Creek, which empties into the Snake River a couple of miles downstream. This short, easy hike is a popular cross-country ski route in the winter." Read more

A fine early spring day awaited us for our mile ski back to the Hot Springs. 2" of fresh snow on top of the older soft snow or the packed trail snow. We sat in warm waters, there were several pools of various teperatures in which to relax. We also spotted abundant wildlife, eagles, ospreys, cyotes, bison & moose. Beware the bison pies!
