Menor’s Ferry Noble Cabin

Menor’s Ferry Noble Cabin Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Menor’s Ferry and the Noble Cabin are near the park headquarters in Moose. The historical site was home to Bill Menor in the late 1 800s, one of the area’s first settlers. His original homestead cabin and country store, built in 1 892, face the river.

Adjacent to the cabin is Menor’s Ferry, an in-use replica of the original ferry that was used as a vital crossing of the Snake River. The vessel consisted of a platform set on two pontoons. Pulleys were attached to the fixed cables on each shore. The river’s current propelled the ferry, moving sideways across the river."
