Menor’s Ferry and the Noble Cabin are near the park headquarters in Moose. The historical site was home to Bill Menor in the late 1 800s, one of the area’s first settlers. His original homestead cabin and country store, built in 1 892, face the river. Adjacent to the cabin is Menor’s Ferry, an in-use replica of the original ferry that was used as a vital crossing of the Snake River. The vessel consisted of a platform set on two pontoons. Pulleys were attached to the fixed cables on each shore. The river’s current propelled the ferry, moving sideways across the river.
