Rolling grassy hills dominate this spacious area, located halfway between Cheyenne and Laramie. Campers can snuggle up pretty close to the lake’s edge, with a lot of distance between other campers. The main attraction here are the reservoirs, the municpal water supply for Cheyenne. Campgrounds included in this eTrail are: Granite Point, Sherman Hills, Upper Sherman Hills, Twin Bays, Pole Mountain, South Causeway, Archery Range, Aspen Grove, North Causeway, Hecla Point, Federal Bay, Medicine Bow Point, Twin Lakes Creek, and Monte Cristo.

Since this park is known for it's lakes and fishing, we asked at the entrance booth about hiking trails. We were told Curt Gowdy has no trails but there IS a 3 mile primatively marked Cub Scout trail and they'll give you a photocopied set of directions for. If you enjoy the task of finding markings (haha, some of the things to look for to tell you where to turn are things such as "big tree") and seeing if you stay on course, this is very fun. The trail's a little over 3 miles long and the scenery is worth it. It's a nice hiking fix for when Vedauwoo is too crowded.
