Holly Lake is nestled in a gorgeous alpine setting within a glacial cirque at the base of Mount Woodring in Paintbrush Canyon. The views from the glacial tarn include Rockchuck Peak, The Jaw, Mount St. John, Leigh Lake, and Jackson Lake. Even though the steep-walled Paintbrush Canyon is located in the central part of the Teton Range, it is one of the quieter, less-traveled canyons. The trail to Holly Lake begins between String and Leigh Lakes and is a steady uphill climb through the canyon.
