North Piney Creek Loop

North Piney Creek Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The trail starts as a wide, dusty ATV route through a fairly dense evergreen forest of lodgepole pines, firs, and Engelmann spruces. After 0.5 mile of downhill the trail reaches a junction at the edge of the wide valley of North Piney Creek. Turn right (upstream), staying on the ATV trail, and follow the clear creek past beaver dams and excellent viewpoints of the cliffs on towering Mt. Schideler to the southwest. From this angle this sloping mountain resembles a huge tilted haystack. A worthwhile way to kill some time while enjoying this view is to break out the fishing pole and try to catch some of the creek’s abundant trout."
