Signal Mountain: Jackson Point Overlook Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"Signal Mountain is a 7,593-foot mountain between the southeast side of Jackson Lake and the Snake River. The isolated summit towers 800 feet above Jackson Hole Valley, providing sweeping views. The hike up Signal Mountain leads to Jackson Point Overlook, a scenic viewing area that takes in the great vistas.
From the overlook are views of Jackson Lake, the Snake River, Oxbow Bend, the Teton Wilderness, the flat glacial plains, and four mountain ranges—the Teton, Absaroka, Gros Ventres, and Wind River Ranges. This hike begins near the Signal Mountain Lodge and Jackson Lake, then continues up the mountain through a forest to the overlook. The paved Signal Mountain Road also winds up to the overlook, so don’t be surprised to discover people at the summit after hiking through the quiet solitude of the forest."
