Open, windswept tundra dotted with alpine lakes characterize this remote hike. The Little East Fork Blacks Forks Drainage has several tiny, high lakes that almost nobody visits. Camping opportunities are few, firewood is scarce, springwater is hard to find, horse pasture is scant, and there are no trails to the lakes. All of these factors add up to no visitors. But if you’re looking for solitude and a chance to discover some unknown fishing waters, here it is. You’ve got to have a sense of adventure, but you’ll know you’ve been to some of the least-traveled country these mountains have to offer.
