Hell Hole Lake Professional Review and Guide
"Hell Hole is a gamble if you’re an angler. Some years it’s hot, and some years it’s not. It all depends on the planting schedules, winter survival, and catch-and-release rates. It is a relatively small lake (8.5 acres) and could be fished out if people keep more than they eat for dinner."
--Jeffrey Probst & Brad Probst, Revised by Brett Prettyman, Hiking Utah's High Uintas (Falcon Guides).
Very little used trail. Could be a best kept secret getaway area EXCEPT last year an oil exploration effort added a dirt road along about two miles of the trail. This really lessens the beauty of the area even though the road is no longer used. Trail is truly dim after hitting the Wilderness boundary.
