Located 6 miles west of Togwotee Pass, which is west of Dubois and east of Moran Junction, in the very southeastern corner of the Teton Wilderness. A beautiful day hike or a leisurely overnighter into the pinnacled terrain of the Teton/Washakie. Cub Creekmiles the trail again veers north and ascends a steep hillside; the top marks the Teton Wilderness boundary. If you only travel the 3.1 miles to this spot, you will have fulfilled your Recommended Daily Allowance for Wildland Beauty (RDAWB). Unless you bushwhack toward some of the surrounding peaks, it’s now time to lose that hard-earned elevation. The trail becomes indistinguishable as it descends toward the east. Look for cairns, and be sure to head more to the right or east than you think you should.

The Trail Guide was right on the money when it referred to the RDAWB (Recommended Daily Allowance for Wildland Beauty). This Floridian thinks it was much more than a daily allowance. Our group consisted of veterans from Teton County and novices. Everyone was impressed by the spectacular views. The flatlander (that would be me) struggled with the elevation and intends to go back before she returns to test her endurance and appreciate the beauty one last time. Don't miss this hike! Lunch by the lake was awesome, all the excitement was on the way to the cave!
