Located 74 miles northeast of Cody, 37.5 miles southwest of Red Lodge, Montana, and 27 miles east of Cooke City, Montana, in the southern Beartooth Mountains. A good day hike or overnighter that begins and returns to Beartooth Lake. Apply liberal amounts of mosquito repellent and bring along an old pair of sneakers for this trip through the boggy inlet area along the east side of Beartooth Lake. About 200 yards beyond the information sign, you will wade across Little Beartooth Creek and begin a gentle arc to the left around the lake.
