"Following the shortest, least rigorous, and least frequently traveled trail to Summit Lake, this scenic trip tours the lake-filled landscape high above Pine Creek Canyon. Varied scenery, distant views of high summits, abundant fishing opportunities, and comfortable forested camping areas combine to make this trail an attractive alternative to more popular trails leading to the Summit Lake region. Since much of the route lies at relatively low elevations—by Wind Rivers standards—this trail opens up earlier in the season and is usually passable by late June in most years." Read more
