"Paint Rock Canyon explores an impressive canyon along the western slopes of the Bighorn Mountains. Starting along the badlands of the Bighorn Basin near Medicine Lodge Archaeological Site, the trail follows picturesque Paint Rock Creek east to the border of the Bighorn National Forest. There are two trailhead options on the western end of this hike. The main access point is from Cold Spring Road. From here, the trail crosses a private section of the Hyatt Ranch before continuing along BLM lands. Access is allowed from May 11 to Sept 30. A year-round access option is from the Lone Tree Trail."
