Trout Pond Recreation Area

Trout Pond Recreation Area Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This campground is located in GWJ National Forests and offers two lakes: Rock Cliff Lake and Trout Pond. The swimming beach is located at Rock Cliff Lake, which is man-made and covers seven acres.

Trout Pond, covering two acres, is the only natural lake within the state. It was created by a sinkhole that occurred geologically and then filled with spring water fresh off the mountain. It offers native brook trout for fishermen. There are a couple of hiking trails from which to choose."
