Battle Run Campground

Battle Run Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Located next to Summersville Lake, the largest lake in West Virginia at 2,700 acres, this campground is run by the US Army Corps of Engineers. With 60 miles of shoreline and surrounded by forests, the lake is renowned for its water quality.

There is a boat ramp, which is accessible to people with disabilities, as well as a fishing dock, also accessible. Fish for largemouth and smallmouth bass, catfish, walleye, and pan fish, and on occasion the state will stock the area below the dam with trout. There are nature, hiking, and biking trails available in the area. The swimming beach is nice and long, but there are no lifeguards so use caution"
