Goose Creek Petroleum to Freeport

Petroleum, West Virginia

Goose Creek: Petroleum to Freeport Professional Review and Guide

"This is a pleasant flatwater creek with attractive scenery. Numerous rock walls and ledges are encountered, along with some very small side streams with attractive waterfalls. The current is fast and the waves are small. The North Bend Rail-Trail crosses the creek four times in the first couple of miles below Petroleum."

From petroleum to Freeport there is no flow nor is there passible waters. Walking almost entire time. Tried to put in a a pool locals call "The Swan" but was unable too. Asked for directions from some shady locals and as we were leaving they showed up at the same spot they sent us too which was several miles away. Kinda shady. Would not suggest unless there has been major water fall. Then it would be a lot of fun. There is a spot just of RT 47 on the hughes river that is not too bad. You can take out at the same spot on goose creek.
