Nature Trail Professional Review and Guide
"A circuit hike that loops through the entire North Bend area. Tucked away in the rolling hills of northern West Virginia is North Bend State Park. Named for the bend in the North Fork of the Hughes River, the park offers natural beauty and modern accommodations. The North Bend Lodge and accompanying restaurant are open year-round to pamper the hiker who appreciates the finer things in life.
Cottages that sport telephones, televisions, and fireplaces can be a rustic, romantic alternative to the campground, which is closed in winter. Swimming pools, miniature golf, game courts, and a fishing pond add to the activities list. The park contains approximately 15.5 miles of trails and is bordered by the 72-mile North Bend Rail. Special attractions: Hardwood forests, rock outcrops, and the banks of the Hughes River."
