Sandwiched between the New River Gorge to the south and the Summersville Lake crags to the north, the rock along the Meadow River has been largely overlooked by the majority of Mid-Atlantic climbers. A handful of local climbers, however, have long known of the wealth of high-quality rock at “The Meadow,” and since the late 1980s the area has gradually developed into what would now be recognized as the region’s premier climbing venue if it weren’t for the New River Gorge just 11 miles to the south.
