Rocky Ridge Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This is a short hike to the crest of the aptly named Rocky Ridge and then back down to the main park road. Whether you like to hike, mountain bike, ride horseback, or just lie around the pool, Kanawha State Forest has you covered. Although the state forest is located just south of Charleston it seems worlds away from the high-density, metro population. The hiker will find wildflowers blooming along the trail, birds gliding from tree to tree, and deer grazing in the meadows. Kanawha State Forest provides an escape from the hustle and bustle of the Metro Valley. Special attractions: Rock outcrops and a 180-degree vista."
