Polly Hollow Professional Review and Guide

"This hike travels up Polly Hollow past several rock outcrops to the top of Wildcat Ridge then down to Davis Creek before looping back around the ridge to the starting point. Located in the figurative “back yard” of the state capital is the 9,300-acre Kanawha State Forest.

In addition to 25 miles of trails, the State Forest has a playground for the kids, picnic areas for meals, and a swimming pool to relax in after a fun hike. The shooting range will help you prepare for the upcoming hunting seasons. With all that Kanawha State Forest has to offer the nearby metro population, it’s no wonder it is a popular outdoor destination. Special attractions: Rock outcrops and hardwood forest."

An easy to moderate hike at times under a canopy of hillside trees. The path is blazed well, except when the Polly trail merges with Wildcat. Don’t look for Polly to break off again once you join the Wildcat trail. I would recommend stopping at the Ranger station and getting the trail map. All were friendly and helpful.
