Sleepy Creek Wildlife Management Area is a gorgeous place to get away from it all in West Virginia. The campsites are primitive, but the peacefulness and beauty are well worth not having amenities for a few days. The campsites are near the lake. Check-in is a little unusual, as there are kiosks for campsite rental in the park rather than a traditional check-in process. Anyone who loves spending time in the outdoors will love it here. You can enjoy paddling, fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, and just existing in nature at this lovely wooded destination.

Sleepy Creek is a primitive camping area with few amenities, but great for the get-away-from-it-all camper. Fishing gear is a must and having a canoe isn't bad either. Bring in all of your creature comforts. There is a fresh water spring toward the entrance to the park though, but it's a bit of work getting water back to the camp site.
