Moncove Lake State Park Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This park is spread across almost 900 acres and includes a Wildlife Management Area, and also features 144-acre Moncove Lake. The lake provides a great opportunity for casting a line for catfish, trout, largemouth bass, and bluegill and is also stocked with walleye.
Motor boats are permitted, but the motor must meet the requirement of less than five horsepower. A boat ramp is provided. There is no swimming allowed in the lake, but there is a swimming pool on-site. There are five trails from which to choose to explore the park, ranging up to 2 miles in length and up to moderately difficult terrain. This area is big for birding due to the ridge formations of the Appalachian Mountains, which create a byway for migrating birds."
