Dry Fork of the Cheat River: Above Gandy Creek to Hendricks Professional Review and Guide
"This upper portion of this stream is nestled snugly between Rich and Allegheny Mountain, but it has its source high up on Rich. From Gandy Creek confluence on down, this is a tremendously picturesque little stream. It winds through an immense, high mountain valley reminiscent of Switzerland. When viewed from US 33 off Rich Mountain, the panorama is fantastic.
As the river approaches and passes Jenningston, the scenery, although beautiful, becomes more pastoral than other Cheat tributaries. Signs of civilization, such as quaint old homesteads, churches, and rural schools are always present. The Dry Fork is aptly named; water levels get really low in the summer and go up and down faster than the other Cheat tributaries."
