Rocky to Rhododendron Trail Loop

Rocky to Rhododendron Trail Loop Professional Review and Guide

"This loop passes through tall stands of sheltered cove hardwoods and makes several ascents and descents of varying degrees of difficulty. The loop can be shortened by utilizing other trails within the Valley Falls State Park Trail system.

The 1,145-acre Valley Falls State Park lies in a narrow valley dominated by the Tygart River. Valley Falls is a 12- to 18-foot waterfall over which this wide river tumbles. The park offers several miles of hiking and biking trails. Picnic shelters are also available. Special attractions: Upland hardwoods and streamside views of the Tygart River and Valley Falls."

One of my favorite trails. Sometimes there's alot of water in the trail after a storm. Otherwise easy to follow although not marked real well.
