Stuart Recreation Area and Campground Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This campground is located next to a bend in the Shavers Fork River, offering prime fishing for regularly stocked trout. You can also swim in the river, and a beach located in the day-use area provides convenient access to the water. It is a beautiful swimming spot with stone outcroppings. Use caution, as there is no lifeguard on duty.
There is one hiking trail, the River Loop, which offers 2 miles alongside the river. Drinking water is located throughout the campground. Toilets are accessible. Several of the campsites are reservable, but the majority are first come, first served. RV friendly up to 53 feet."
