Big Branch Loop

Brooks, West Virginia

Big Branch Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Start this hike at attractive Brooks Falls, a cataract on the New River. From this water feature complemented with a picnic area, hike up Big Branch, a steep and intimate tributary of the New. Work your way up the wildflower-filled vale, passing small cascades before reaching an old homesite and waterfall. From here the trail traverses wooded hillsides before making its way back down to the New River. While you’re in the vicinity, make a side trip to Sandstone Falls, downstream on the New River."
