Trempealeau County Classic

Trempealeau County Classic Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"In a land with majestic bluffs, meandering waterways, and rich Wisconsin history, this classic tour will give you a taste of areas with many riding possibilities. It is a biker’s oasis of touring routes, so just pick up a free county bike map and decide. Starting in a centrally located Trempealeau County town, your next decision will be whether to ride the route as a century or as a two-day adventure. As you travel counterclockwise to gain the most momentum from the hills, you will encounter the route’s first town, which was named after the centennial celebration of America’s independence.

After your first climb, enjoy ridge riding for several miles until you hit the Alligator Slide that drops you down to a town with two villages. You then roll through several fertile valleys, pass Chicken Breast Bluff, and enter a historic river town first settled in the early 1650s. Now circling back to the north, you will visit several villages, each with their own story, while relishing the rolling terrain. Along the way learn about the legend of Princess Marie Nounko and view the Amish way of life before returning to Whitehall."
