Point Beach Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Nowhere else on Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan shoreline is there anything quite like Point Beach State Forest. Here 6 scenic miles of undeveloped sand beach border a quiet forest accented with string bogs. A partial segment of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail traverses the Point Beach State Forest ski trails, along forested sand ridges and amid swales, before crossing a creek and its wetlands and dunes to arrive at the shore of Lake Michigan.

It’s a long hike with shorter options, but the miles of undeveloped beach as well as the ecosystem created by the dunes are worth the extra time."
