Manitou Falls Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Most will come to this state park to enjoy the view of the 165-foot-high Big Manitou Falls, the tallest waterfall east of the Mississippi. But stay on the trail and it takes you along a scenic river and a lakeshore to get to Little Manitou Falls as well.

Big Manitou Falls is more than just big; it is a giant. A vertical drop of 165 feet makes it Wisconsin’s highest and the fourth-tallest waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains. Better yet, another waterfall, the state’s eighth highest at 31 feet, is 1.5 miles upstream on the Black River. Combining visits to both these falls with a hike along the park’s riverside paths makes a memorable outing."

Special entry rate discount if you're "only" going to be in the park for an hour. We went in September and the flow was very low. Pretty area, though.
