Star Lake

Star Lake Professional Review and Guide

"A pine-covered peninsula juts out into Star Lake, offering a scenic pass partly along the lakeshore but also upon a boardwalk with views into a bog. Few short trails offer such a strong sense of place as the Star Lake Hiking Trail does.
Long stretches of windswept lake views and an intimate bog are part of its tour of a narrow peninsula protruding into Star Lake.

Two paths travel this peninsula, the hiking trail marked with brown signs featuring the figure of a hiker, and a nature trail, with its signs bearing the likeness of a hawk. The hiking trail and the nature trail share the same path for much of the route. From the southern corner of the trailhead parking lot, pass a water pump and walk south, downhill, on a broad footpath."

Nice entry level trail. 1 mile and 2.5 mile loop. Several historical markers describing Star Lake history in logging. 2.5 mile loop walks along shore line. Several stopping points and well pumps for drinking. Nice 20 mins. to 1 hour hike for all levels. Bring the entire family. No bikes. No Pets.
