Pleasant Place Cruise

Pleasant Place Cruise Professional Review and Guide

"This route starts in a resort community that is divided by two lakes, making it almost an island city. You’ll start at the Bearskin State trailhead and travel through the countryside on roads of Oneida and Vilas Counties. It’s your choice: Leave this pioneer resort community on the bike trail, or follow the lakefront roads as they wind around the bays and peninsulas of Kawaguesaga Lake. Within 3 miles the bike trail meets up with the cruise as it twists and turns to the west on the rolling forested lane.

After pedaling up around a couple scenic lakes, you soon visit a village named by French traders who saw the local Indian tribe fishing from their canoes at night by the light of torches. As you coast down along Fence Lake, you might see the resident eagle perched in a tree. Farther along you pass through a town named for an early lumber camp that is today home to the “Angel on Snowshoes.” Coming full circle, you soon return to Minocqua."
