Pickerel Cruise

Pickerel Cruise Professional Review and Guide

"A place of beauty, excitement, and fun, it’s easy to lose yourself in the euphoria of riding options here. You leave from a community that means “pickerel,” or “pike,” in the Potawatomi language and ride along a scenic stretch of Lake Michigan. At Carol Beach, jet out to the west past Chwaukee Prairie Nature Preserve, then pass through a forgotten village named for three brothers surnamed Pike.

After a brief dip past the Illinois state line, you’ll enjoy more rollers once back in Wisconsin as the route meanders up around a set of beautiful lakes before passing the Dutch Gap Canal. You then cross the Des Plaines River and roll through an old village that started as a railroad station and was named for a family who owned and farmed the land there. Circling back to the east and riding along the flat grain fields, you will soon pass Dairyland Greyhound Park. After circling up along the airport, the route crosses Pike Creek a couple times and makes its way back into Kenosha passing the Washington Park Velodrome."
