New Glarus Woods Hike Professional Review and Guide
"This hike explores a preserved parcel of forest near the worth-a-visit town of New Glarus. Start your loop hike at a pretty picnic area, then delve into deep and regal hardwoods of walnut, oak, and basswood. The loop breaks out into colorful prairie near the headwaters of the Sugar River before turning north and rolling over more wooded hills. It then passes near a campground and over more wooded knolls before closing the loop. The hike is on state park property, which is well managed not only with regard to its natural resources but also for recreation such as hiking, picnicking, and camping."
