Oak Grove Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This hike leaves from the shoreline of a popular boating and swimming access at Yellowstone Lake State Park. Walk a wooded draw, then rise to hills above Yellowstone Lake. Here, you can gain partial views of the lake valley. The hike then traverses woods and meadows and even passes through a small gorge before returning to the trailhead. The wide, mown path and excellent trail signage make this hike a breeze.
This particular hike explores the hills and hollows draining into Yellowstone Lake. Finding the Oak Grove Trail’s beginning may be the hardest part of the entire hike. You will easily spot a sign for the Oak Grove Trail near the four-way intersection of Lake Road, the campground access road, and the primary boat launch, however, you will not see a pathway entering the woods. The trail has been rerouted."
