Pigeon Creek trail Professional Review and Guide
"The Pigeon Creek Trail is a nice out-and-back jaunt through the low-land woods of Black River Falls State Forest. It’s a good, easy alternative to skiing the ridges if the conditions are icy, or just a pleasant, flat trek at anytime. And because it’s an out-and-back trail, you can snowshoe or ski just as far as you feel like.
The vast Black River State Forest covers 66,000 acres of mixed hard-wood, evergreen, and marsh. The hard oak and maple grow on the 400-foot mounds and ridges. The lowland is more suitable for red, white, and jack pine. Surface quality: Ungroomed; hiker, skier, and snowshoer packed. Fees: yes."
