Ice Age Trail Devil’s Lake Segment

Ice Age Trail: Devil’s Lake Segment Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Simply the grandest of the area’s Ice Age Trail segments, with two dramatic bluffs overlooking Devil’s Lake and an assortment of glacial formations, this hike offers a bit of everything and ends at the entrance to Parfrey’s Glen, a wonder in its own right.

The length alone might discourage some hikers or at least compel them to cut it in half, perhaps spending a night camping at Devil’s Lake State Park, which is just past the halfway point. If hiked one-way, it requires either two vehicles or a bike drop at Parfrey’s Glen to get back to the trailhead. A walk of about 2.9 miles via CR DL and Marsh Road would also work, making this a 21.1-mile loop. Make sure you know when sundown is and that you start early."
