Weaving Through Wisconsin's Alps Professional Review and Guide
"The Real Wheelin' Bike Race runs out of Mauston each year, billing itself as a ride through the "Alps of Juneau County" into some of Wisconsin's most spectacular scenery. This ride follows that route into the Wisconsin Alps.
Mauston is on the river of memories, as the signs say in town (the river is the Lemonweir), and it sits on I-94 in the center of southern Wisconsin. Actually, this ride is not as grueling as its alpine name suggests, although are a number of stiff climbs and steep descents. The scenery, however, makes the ups and downs well worth it. The ride's sole purpose is to show off the spectacular scenery-no historic sites, no interesting lakes; just mile after mile of picture-postcard views. Things to see: Mauston, Lemonweir River, outstanding scenic vistas."
