Madison and Middleton Professional Review and Guide
"Wisconsin's capitol, Madison, is affectionately called "Mad City" by the locals. This is probably for good reason. Not only is the city the state's political power center, with all the attendant intrigues, but it is also home of the University of Wisconsin, with a supporting cast of professorial types, eager young minds, and a liberal outlook on life. Forward, the statue atop the state capitol, looks down at the entire scene from her perch.
One wonders what she thinks about all the hustle and bustle. Madison is a city of lakes; the largest is Mendota, followed by Monona, Waubesa, and Wingra. Parks and observation points are scattered around the waters, with one of the best vistas from the deck atop the downtown Monona Terrace Convention Center. The center design was a brainchild of famous architect everywhere in the building, from the carpet design to the roof line."
