Mirror Lake State Park

Mirror Lake State Park Professional Review and Guide

"Mirror Lake is a beautiful park located at the center of the state just outside the true terminal moraine. The park has a mountain bike course consisting of three loops connected at their edges, forming a wide circuit nearly 9 miles in length. The riding is fast and climbing is not as common as in other areas of the moraine. The singletrack portions of trail lend themselves to big-ring cruising, and the wide paths offer quick, swooping cornering and all-out straight-aways.

The trails cover hard singletrack mixed with sand and wide grass paths, most with a well-worn groove down the center. The middle Fern Dell Loop is prepared for skate style cross-country skiing in winter and therefore is wider and grassier than the Turtleville and Hastings loops to either side. The entire network takes about an hour for an intermediate rider to complete at a moderate pace. Most riders will also want to take an extra pass on their favorite of the three loops."
