Willow River State Park Campground Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"With its close proximity to the Twin Cities, you might expect Willow River State Park to be kind of beat-up and overused. Quite the contrary. I found more than 3,000 acres of wellpreserved land here in St. Croix County, with a great campground set on the shores of a large yet quiet lake. Sure, this park can get busy, but dedicated park staffers keep it in good shape.
So whether you are into waterfall viewing, swimming, hiking, fishing, or canoeing, head this way, grab your private campsite, and be as surprised as I was. This state park is a winner, but be aware that it is divided into three sections: 100, 200, and 300. The newer 100 and 200 campgrounds were designed to be more spacious to accommodate RVs, and these tend to be unshaded and less private. But a bluff atop Little Falls Lake is the setting for the preferable 70 campsites found in the older, more mature 300 campground."
